Top 20 horses in the world - ELO

The EquiRatings Elo is a career rating for a horse. It is highly correlated to the chance of jumping clear and therefore works well when comparing horses. It moves up-and-down based on who the horses compete against and who finishes ahead of who. To be included in the tables below, horses must have at least three clear rounds at CSI5* 160+ in 2024. Results below filtered to show CSI5* & Championships 160cm+ competitions in 2024.

Which horses have had big growth in their ratings in the recent weeks?

Every horse when they begin to compete at 4/5* 150 and above gets a rating of 520. That rating then begins to move up (and down) based on performance. The higher the rating climbs, the harder it becomes to make gains. To ensure, we are looking at horses of a certain level, we only include those horses who have improved up to an Elo of 675+ on 18th June.
